Hear you on this. Once upon a time in Los Angeles, I lived on a sailboat because I was a young screenwriter and couldn't afford a regular apartment. Turned into one of the best times of my life. I imagine even the sailboats there now are unaffordable...

Right? It was NEVER easy, but we could swing it in an industry that notoriously underpays. But now, it's all out of whack. Capitalism/mergers commodifying and killing art (basically). Hopefully new business models will arise, or things will correct. But LA may be DOA as far as fostering creatives goes ...
